FROZEN INnnnnnnnn!

Little did we know that this was going to be the view for the rest of the week - but a better view would have been hard to find - seriously!

What better excuse for a really lazy holiday, without any locks at all. Each day we put on lots of layers of clothes and set off for a 'constitutional' in a different direction, aiming at a different village/pub each day! After a few days, admittedly we had to repeat some of the walks and pubs - but by now we were feeling at home - and a comfortable familiarity with our surroundings.

We managed to keep food and drink stocked up from village shops....but lots of hours on board with the stove going meant that we soon needed more coal!
Fortunately -
we were about a mile from a marina, [which will remain nameless]!

Unfortuately - they didn't enter into the 'spirit ' of things at all - and made us pay £5 deposit to borrow a cranky wheelbarrow with a flat tyre, to get 2 bags of coal back to the boat! Then of course we had to take the cranky barrow back to the marina - and walk back to the boat again! That little episode provided several hours of entertainment that day!
Infact this became a walking holiday - certainly not a boating holiday!
But very enjoyable all the same.

Have you ever wondered how many different photos you can take of the same view?Well you'd be surprised! So here are photos of the scenery around us in daylight, twilight and moonlight, in clear weather and in mist....and all the more beautiful because we had our nice cosy boat to take refuge in!
