1957 2½d Graphite 1st Issue used Used graphite lined stamp from the first such issue.
This stamp was issued in 1957 as part of the first experiment using tagging with graphite lines on the back of the stamps. The watermark used was the "St. Edward's Crown" and the printing of type II. This is a very fine used example of this stamp.

The graphite lines were added to the back of the stamps as an experiment in automated letter sorting in the Southampton area.
